NATIVE SUN
No conversation about New York City rock ’n’ roll is complete without Native Sun. Fronted by Colombian-American songwriter Danny Gomez, the band makes cathartic and timeless songs that are undeniable. Along with drummer Nico Espinosa and bassist Justin Barry, their livewire local gigs are simultaneously welcoming, unpredictable, and chaotic — making them a can’t-miss fixture of city nightlife with a scrappy but sizable following.

VIV & RILEY
A bittersweet nostalgia lies at the heart of Imaginary People, the new album from indie roots duo Viv & Riley. Over ten tracks, the pair applies an indie folk sheen to newly composed pop gems, a reworking of an ancient ballad, and even an original fiddle tune, deftly weaving together the old and new. The record was produced by Alex Bingham of Hiss Golden Messenger.
